5/17/10 Congratulations to Akeem Ellis on being the 2010 National Golden Gloves Champion! This is the 1st National champ for the Rivera Bros.Gym. Also great job to Rashidi Ellis who also traveled out to the National Golden Gloves and lost a tough decision. Good luck to Rashida Ellis who will be fighting in June in the JO Nationals. Alex met with the new mayor of Lynn last week and she told us she was going to help us out on finding a gym. HOPEFULLY WE HAVE A NEW GYM SOMETIME IN JUNE!!!!!!! WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR DONATIONS OF ANY KIND!

PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO. ALEX RIVERA MADE A PROMISE TO THE LYNN YOUTH THAT HE WILL WORK DAY AND NIGHT TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THE GYM. WE HAD CHANNEL 5 HERE AND IT WAS ON THE AIR STILL NO RESPONSE.
I JUST WANT TO THANK RICK FORD, DON WALKER & ALLISON PERRY OF THE LYNN CITY HALL! THESE 3 PEOPLE ARE VERY CARING AND HAS HELPED OUT THE RIVERA BOXING CLUB TREMENDOUSLY. ALSO JOE WALL AND EVERYONE AT GE., MICHAEL JANKO, TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE THAT HAS HELPED IN THIS GYM & TO MY BOXERS THANK YOU AGAIN!
ALOT OF PEOPLE DON'T BE LEAVE IN KIDS DOING BOXING. BUT WHAT PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO HAVE A PLACE FOR THE YOUTH TO COME IN TO A BOXING GYM WHERE THEY CAN RELEASE THERE FRUSTRATIONS HERE INSTEAD OF ON THE STREETS.
